Rio Bravo (18-Mar-1959)
Director: Howard Hawks Writers: Jules Furthman; Leigh Brackett From novel by: Barbara Hawks (purported unpublished short story, as "B. H. McCampbell") Music Composed and Conducted by: Dimitri Tiomkin Producer: Howard Hawks Keywords: Western, Texas A town sheriff and his allies hold an outlaw in jail as several attempts are underway trying to spring him. Director Howard Hawks and John Wayne made this response to High Noon (1952), where the protagonist is always asking for help. In Rio Bravo, John Wayne never asks even if it is desperately needed. Dean Martin is memorable as the drunk deputy Borachon, in the most difficult acting role of his career.

CAST REVIEWS Review by James Coddington (posted on 16-Aug-2007) This is one of the best films that John Wayne ever made. If I have seen it once I have seen it at least 70 times. I also have the DVD of it and will keep watching it over and over again. I don't know why but all of John Wayne's movies never gets old to me. I have 4 of his best movies and will buy more of them as I go along. This country has lost many important people but three of them John Wayne, Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson have been among the most important ones for us. Where ever they are may God be standing by thier side and watching their movie Rio Bravo.
