REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 14-Apr-2005) Ann Margret, Arnold Schwarzenneger,
Kirk Douglas, Jack Elam and the horse Whiskey head this very funny
movie. If you have ever seen the Bugs Bunny / Roadrunner movies, you
will feel at home watching this movie many times. The sight gags are
numerous throughout the movie. Basically the plot consists of Ann
Margret ( charmin), and Arnold Schwarzenneger ( Hansome Stranger), and
the Villain himself, Kirk Douglas. Kirk tries to hold up a bank and of
course screws it up. His horse Whiskey sits down when he jumps on him
to getaway.. While in jail, Kirk comes in contact with the evil Jack
Elam, who has loaned half the money to Parody Jones, Charmin's dad. Now
Parody needs more money to work his mine, and Jack Elam lends it to
Parody. His daughter, Charming, is sent by train to town to get the
money, and Handsome Stranger picks her up and is suppose to get her and
the money back to Parody. Of course in the best traditions of the Old
West, many things happen on the way back to the mine and Parody Jones.
Well, our Heroine, Charmin is quite smitten with Handsome Stranger, and
all she wants to do is, well you can figure that part out for yourself.
They must get through Indian Country and are followed by Paul Lynde and
his band of Indians. Not to worry about the Indians, they are all
completely incompetent. The Villain, Kirk Douglas, tries all sorts of
methods, right out of the BB/Roadrunner cartoons to stop their wagon.
Some of the ways are hilarious, with his horse Whiskey, who has a sense
of humor, and thwarts half of Douglas' attempts to stop the wagon. If
every one who ever wanted a horse, Whiskey would be the one they would
want...I would...he is wonderfully trained and is the source of much of
the humor associated with the movie. For a good clean laughable movie
and loads of fun, don't miss The Villain...... Guess who get the
girl.........
Review by JC Barclayt (posted on 22-May-2005) A Roadrunner cartoon come to life as Kirk Douglas tries to prevent Arnold and Ann-Margret from Arriving at their destination. A very funny Paul Lynde as a snide Indian along for the laughs. Much better than you'd think from the outset.
Do you know something we don't?
