REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 6-Jun-2005) This was a very entertaining movie.
The storyline was exceptionally complex for a Western and, along with
some excellent intrigue, there was a genuine and literal cliffhanger.
The performances by John Wayne, Walter Pidgeon, and Roy Rogers were
very good. It was certainly one of The Duke's better roles and Roy
Rogers role was a complete surprise. Walter Pidgeon made a very
believable villain who was not totally in a "black hat". And, oc ourse,
Gabby Hayes provided some very cute and humerous scenes. I would
definitely recommend this to anybody who is a fan of The Duke's or who
wishes to pass a couple of lazy summer hours in a very entertaining
manner.
