The Comancheros (30-Oct-1961)
Director: Michael Curtiz Writers: James Edward Grant; Clair Huffaker From novel by: Paul I. Wellman Keywords: Western John Wayne is Texas Ranger Jake Cutter, in pursuit of gambler Paul Regret, made a fugitive after the death of his challenger in a duel. The two form an unlikely alliance against the Comancheros, a group of outlaws that trade illicit guns and whiskey to Comanche Indians. Some unfortunate anachronisms but a very strong western; stunning cinematography and a majestic score by Elmer Bernstein in this final film directed by Michael Curtiz, who died soon after filming.
