ABSTRACT
Everett Hitch and Virgil Cole are friends and skilled sharpshooters, making their trade as hired policemen for lawless outposts of the Old West. Their latest assignment takes them to Appaloosa, a town in the New Mexico Territory fraught with violence ever since monied outlaw Randall Bragg rode into town and began killing lawmen. Randall soon proves to be the least of our pair's problems with the sudden arrival of Allison French, a smart, level-headed, easy-on-the-eyes widow who serves as an enigmatic distraction for the duo as they struggle to carry out the work that brought them to Appaloosa in the first place.
