ABSTRACT Dentist Bertram Pincus, an introverted man more interested in his career than his people skills, acquires the ability to see and communicate with ghosts when he dies for seven minutes during a routine medical procedure. Frustrated with his new lot in life, Bertram comes into contact with dead businessman Frank Herlihy, a man agreeing to keep the ghosts from bothering him if he agrees to prevent widow Gwen from marrying a lawyer out for her money.
