REVIEWS Review by Treehuggerz (posted on 31-May-2005) This is a dark comedy with lots of future stars. The lead character is a brilliant, coed, misfit who is transformed into a beauty. Once ignored or ridiculed she seeks revenge on those who tormented her former ugly self. How she gets rid of the cheerleader is truly original. Will she be caught by the equally brilliant investigator or will she kill off the entire campus? Well written and quite funny, you'll be cheering for the serial killer in this mystery. If you liked Serial Mom, Pandemonium or even Revenge of the Nerds, this one should be part of your collection.
Review by Karol (posted on 26-May-2005) I only saw this "made-for-tv" movie once, but can't forget it. It was the first time I saw Stockard Channing, and was captivated by her beauty, as well as the plot of vengeance. I loved this dark comedy and wish it would be aired again, or better yet, be available on dvd or video.
Review by anonymous (posted on 26-Dec-2006) Stockard Channing is wonderful. I saw this film a long time ago on TV and I recently rented it and it is still great ! It is still very funny and I laughed out loud watching it over 30 years later. I was amazed how gorgeous she looked . She still is a beautiful woman . The before and after scenes were excellent. Whoever did her makeup should have gotten an award as Miss Channing certainly should have for her great acting. She was totally believable being the ugly girl !! Any girl who has ever been made fun of for her looks , weight or appearance should see this film !!! Since Joan Rivers wrote it it is truly her story. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is I wish it would have been longer. It would have made a great series !!!
Review by Mariam Donerian (posted on 15-Oct-2005) This made for TV movie was an ABC Circle Film.
It came out in the fall of 1973. My mother and I fell in love with Stockard Channing and thought that she was a wonderful actress.
I felt a kinship with the character "Miriam Knight" because in high school, I considered myself to be a very unpopular person, who got made fun of many times by other mean school mates.
In the summer of 1996, a local station Channel 20 WTXX out of Waterbury, happened to show all the ABC Circle Films. I was in my element at the time, and they showed "The Girl Most Likely To" in late August of that year. The movies came on at 1:00 am, but I taped it, and still have the tape.
We are so lucky now because as of October 4th 2005 This movie is now available on DVD! Shop around, because you can find it cheap. Thank God it's available to all. But I will always treasure my VHS copy that I made!
If you enjoy a comedy a little hell bent on revenge then this is for you! Look for Larry Manetti (Magnum PI) Larry Wilcox, Fred Grandy, Annette O'Toole, & more. You will even see Ed Asner in a scene with an older lady at a computer. She was the same actress that played his date in an episode of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show". Remember, "you're excused Lou?"
Anyway, it's these older films that i love!
Do you know something we don't?
