Film adaptation of the 2005 novel of the same name follows an attorney's battle with his conscience in the midst of a massive case.

ABSTRACT
Mickey Haller, a Los Angeles-area defense attorney who makes his trade representing a veritable Who's Who of gangsters and petty criminals, happens upon the case of a lifetime when high-profile Beverly Hills playboy Louis Roulet comes to him after being fingered in the vicious beating of prostitute Reggie Campo. Though Haller initially believes Roulet to be innocent, a subsequent investigation into the details of the case reveals striking similarities to that of an earlier client of his, triggering a crisis of conscience and fears that Roulet may have been the real culprit in his earlier client's own alleged crime.
