ABSTRACT
Rose Lorkowski is a hardworking single mother looking to put her difficult past behind her, working overtime in an attempt to send son Oscar to a private school; sister Norah has trouble supporting herself, living with father Joe as he hatches one failed get-rich-quick scheme after another. At the urging of illicit fling Mac, a married police officer, Rose starts an outfit devoted to cleaning up crime scenes called Sunshine Cleaning, hiring Norah to help out as the pair embark on an offbeat adventure in their new career path.
