Detachment (25-Apr-2011)
Director: Tony Kaye Writer: Carl Lund Keywords: Drama Drama about the American school system follows the lives of several school teachers, officials, and students through the eyes of a substitute teacher.
ABSTRACT Henry Barthes, a well-intentioned substitute teacher in the American public school system, maintains a tenuous existence that sees him drifting from school to school, never managing to stay in one place long enough to form a tangible connection with any of his temporary co-workers or students. As Henry settles into his latest assignment, however, he finds his life profoundly impacted by the sudden arrival of three women -- fellow teacher Sarah Madison, prostitute Erica, and troubled student Meredith -- who seem primed to affect him like none other.
