Inkheart (11-Dec-2008)
Director: Iain Softley Writer: David Lindsay-Abaire From juvenile novel: Inkheart by Cornelia Funke Keywords: Fantasy A father capable of releasing storybook characters from the confines of their tales is called upon to stop a villain from endangering humanity.
ABSTRACT Adapted from the 2003 novel of the same name, Inkheart follows Mo Folchart, a man blessed with the ability to bring storybook characters to life right out of their pages. Mo's "gift" carries a terrible consequence, however: Whenever he brings a character to life, someone "real" disappears into its pages, something he learned the hard way when wife Resa vanished during a bedtime story read to daughter Meggie. Mo's quest to bring his wife back to life brings him into contact with the villainous Capricorn, drawing him into an adventure to stop the fictional evildoer from endangering humanity and Meggie's welfare. Inkheart and its source material could be described as Myst for kids.
