Four years since the shark attacks, tourism in Amity is at record levels and a big new hotel is under construction. Chief Brody notes missing divers, a killer whale washed ashore with suspicious bite marks; his concerns get him summarily fired. Brody's sons and his friends are out on the water when another attack occurs. First sequel to Jaws (1975), and although bad, does not approach the utter badness of the subsequent sequels. Introduced cliché taglines "Just when you thought it was safe" and "This time... it's personal."
