ABSTRACT
Nascimento, a captain in Brazil's Special Police Operations Battalion, is tasked with cleaning up a drug dealer-infested Rio de Janeiro slum in anticipation of a visit from the Pope. Elite Squad follows Nascimento as he endeavors to find a suitable replacement in his relentless and controversial quest to cleanse the streets of crime, driven to leave his post by his wife's pregnancy and a desire to train new recruits.
