The Young Doctors (23-Aug-1961)
Director: Phil Karlson Writer: Joseph Hayes From novel: The Final Diagnosis by Arthur Hailey Music by: Elmer Bernstein Producers: Stuart Millar; Lawrence Turman Keywords: Drama, Hospital Ben Gazarra is Dr. David Coleman, a young idealistic physician assigned as an assistant to Dr. Joseph Pearson, played by Fredric March, who is strongly hinted at by hospital administration that he should consider retirement. Coleman's attempts to modernize the pathology department outrage Pearson. And Coleman's relationship with a pretty nurse becomes complicated as her medical problems develop. Both leads turn in good performances for this medical drama which, despite its misleading title, is not a soap opera in the vein of The Interns (1962).
