A war drama memorializing the Iraq War as a Vietnam-esque American military blunder for our modern times, The Hurt Locker enamors viewers with the story of William James, a newly-minted Army sergeant heading to the volatile Middle Eastern republic on bomb squad duty. Sergeant James' questionable ethics and personal idea of "patriotism" prove dangerous for his subordinates, placing them in the midst of a ghastly, life-changing series of events as the ongoing conflict threatens to devolve into an all-out civil war.
