Palais royal! (13-May-2005)

REVIEWS Review by Natalie (posted on 25-Jun-2007) A funnt satiric French comedy that shows how a woman can learn to
change her situation 180 degrees from being mocked by the people she
should be able to depend on the most. In Palais Royal!, we see Armelle,
an average wife and mother who happends to be married to Arnaud, a
Prince, transform from a clumsy and misplaced Crown Princess-to be, to
a confident and strong woman who knows how to turn the situation to her
advantage. Bearing a striking resemblence to the story of Diana, this
is a story that makes the viewer laugh almost to the very end. The
acting is witty and fresh, and one of its best performances is
delivered by the legendary Catherine Deneuve, who stars as the cold
Queen (a performance modeled, of course, on Elizabeth II, the Queen of
Great Britain). Palais Royal! is a movie recommended to anybody who
feels like relaxing in front of the TV, without having to think too
much about the plot and events.
