REVIEWS Review by E.Jackson (posted on 22-Sep-2008) I recently saw this film on TCM. I am a fan of classic, "really classic", black and white films. This story plot was typical of the 30's, representing the straight-laced morals of that time. The casting was good, and it was well acted with just enough comedy in the right places to make it fun to watch and enough suspense to make you "stay glued" to the end. This film was interesting and not as predictable of some.
It was a delight to see Ms. Francis made up to look 30 years older than she actually was. And, to see Sybil Jason, the talented child actress who played her daughter(she appeared later with Shirley Temple in "The Little Princess"-1939). Ms. Francis is one of the best actresses of her time.
