The Princess and the Pirate (17-Nov-1944)
Director: David Butler Writers: Sy Bartlett; Allen Boretz; Everett Freeman; Don Hartman; Curtis Kenyon; Melville Shavelson Keywords: Action/Adventure, Romantic Comedy Notorious pirate "The Hook" captures a ship; passengers onboard include Princess Margaret, traveling incognito in order to marry a commoner, and "Sylvester the Great", so-called Man of Seven Faces, a hapless vaudevillian. "My act is known all over Europe. That's why I'm going to America." Though the film is overburdened with plot, Hope gives a good solo performance, some of the humor now quite dated. Received Oscar nominations for Best Interior Decoration and Best Score.
