I loved this movie! I hadn't heard of it before but my mom mentioned a movie where Vernonica Lake is a nurse during World War II. I did some research, found the movie and rented it. Right after it was over, I watched it again! It was heartwrenching, it was funny, it was just really good. George Reeves was surprisingly good. I hadn't seen him in anything but Superman and was amazed at how good he was. If I can find the movie to buy, I will definitely buy it. I feel like I'm rambling here, but it was so much better than I expected it to be. Don't dismiss this movie because it's so old. It's still very relevant. Even if it wasn't, it's an exceptional film. Really listen to the dialog. When you think about how early in the war it was made, it is almost inspirational.

This movie is sublime. Outdated yes but the message is still there. What a wonderful cast. 3 actresses who are different but darn good. Paulette Goddard often tag a just pretty pretty was awesome. First pinup to receive an academy award nom. Veronica Lake did her best job ever. Sonny Tufts, quite a surprise for many good and cuddly. Colbert, Britton Reeves etc. they all did a phenomenal job. The story is true and heartbreaking. The war scenes so effective. Miklos Rozsa music so sad and haunting. This film was made in 1943 and is still great to view today. My favorite scenes: Goddard saying her last goodbyes before the Japanese invasion, and Lake sacrificing herself to the enemy. Today sadly all the actors are gone but they will remain in my memory for the rest of my life. Thank you director Mark Sandrich. My prized possession, a nurse uniform warn by Paulette Goddard in the movie.
