REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 6-Oct-2006) I rate this film very highly for what it was and for the message it carried. It was the re-introduction of America's greatest comic book hero to movie audiences in 1951 with a message of tolerance for those who are not like us.It appeared a message to the ignorant and racist alike that this is America and that it is accepting of all who come to it either thru its shore, from outer space(as Superman did himself) or from underground.I am 59 years old, grew up watching Superman in the South in 1955,but I never saw this movie.I saw it last week.I commend the writers, producers, and the wonderful actors for delivering this wonderful movie to us. I love the Adventures of Superman, especially the first season.George Reeves is a no nonsense Superman and Clark Kent, who is a little bit impatient with the tough as nails Lois Lane played by the beautiful Phyllis Coates.I can never take my eyes off of her. It's obvious that Superman cares deeply for her. Superman and the Mole Men is a great bit of 1950's nostalgia and an object lesson in how to tell a strange and weird(typical of the 50's)science fiction story with a small budget.
