REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 23-Aug-2006) This is the movie that caused a total
about face where my view of Kevin Costner was concerned and I don't
even know how many times I've seen most of his movies anymore. I
finally noticed how great he truly is. I love all his work, yes even
Waterworld. Why? Simple, I appreciate the effort that went into it.
Dragonfly was the movie that made me start paying proper attention to
the incredible talent this man has for completely immersing himself in
his character. He makes every film he does a beautiful piece of work to
watch because you can't help losing yourself in his amazing
authenticity. He becomes his character and makes it look easy and
that's the hard part. To me he is a very special artist, not just
another actor. He knows his craft and gives everything he has to every
part he plays, whether he likes it or not. I say this because I have to
believe that there was a part or two somewhere, that he might have
preferred not to do, but did anyway and didn't skimp on the effort.
Kevin's finest talent is making a very very difficult job look easy.
He's much like the finest simulated diamond in a way. He makes his
characters come alive with such brilliance, that for a little while
they're real. To me, Kevin, the man, is very real as well. His smile is
warm, as are his eyes. He seems to have a beautifully gentle strength.
I feel that his quiet way takes nothing away from a person feeling
perfectly safe and secure in his care. He strikes me as a shy, kind and
generous man, and a man that would be delightful to be around. There's
a wit and wisdom that come through and a genuine love for children.
I've read media garbage just like the next person, but have always been
convinced that, there's a reason for everything we do. Do we always
make the best choices in life? No. We are the ones that have to deal
with our choices, so what makes them someone elses business? I would
love to meet this sweet, special man before I die, and equally
important, I would love to see him performing with his band. That would
be the ultimate for me. Best regards. Sandy
