ABSTRACT
Billed by its production company as having been inspired by a true story, Empire State follows police academy reject and Empire State Armored Truck Company security guard Chris Potamitis as he is dragged into a scheme masterminded by his best friend to rob his own employer of a massive sum of money. The heist, which would stand as the biggest of its kind in American history if successful, draws the attention of veteran NYPD detective James Ransone as it grows in scope, placing the time-tested veteran officer hot on the pair's trail just as local crime bosses attempt to get in on the action.
