A Luddite cop's investigation of a crime involving a robot in the near-future uncovers potentially devastating consequences for humanity.

ABSTRACT
2035, Chicago, Illinois: Humanity exists in peaceful cooperation with hyper-advanced robots, calling upon them to augment their lives by performing tasks ranging from the menial to the sophisticated. All proceeds peacefully until the mysterious murder of U.S. Robotics scientist Alfred Lanning, a case implicating robot Sonny as a prime suspect despite his behavior coming into conflict with the supposedly-unbreakable Three Laws of Robotics. With self-proclaimed "robotophobic" detective Del Spooner on the case alongside psychologist Susan Calvin, a conspiracy by robots to rebel against their increasingly-dependent organic masters comes into the picture, soon threatening to subsume our world as we know it if Spooner does not act accordingly.
