REVIEWS Review by Dan Russo (posted on 11-Jul-2007) This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of movies. Do not underestimate this film because of its title. I hate the sight of blood, and I am a vegetarian. But I did not mind the butcher shop scenes because the lead man is in LOVE with the leading lady, who happens to be a Butcher-ess. His mother is funny, and sexy, and his father is a Scot with a very chauvinistic attitude, but is also hilarious.
The fact that his mother takes those weird newspapers seriously that predict the sun will nova and destroy the earth in five years seems ridiculous on the surface, but when she shows him an article about a woman who is a serial ax-murderer of her last five husbands, he starts taking it seriously when he finds out his wife has been married five times, in the same cities where the murders took place, and then starts thinking that his wife-to-be is the ax murderer.
This results in some ridiculous attempts to not be alone with his fiancee and also makes her think HE is crazy. After some soul-searching and some research, he realizes, almost too late, that it is not his fiancee, but her jealous friend who has been killing her husbands. She thinks they just left her! Poor thing! But, OUCH! Watch out for that AX!
Her jealous friend is now on the rampage with an ax, and is trying to kill our leading man. His friend in the police force comes and saves him, just in time, and the jealous ax murderer is taken off to the hooskow. All's fair in love and war and this is a love story. So WATCH OUT! You'll love it!
