Steve Jobs (5-Sep-2015)
Director: Danny Boyle Writer: Aaron Sorkin Based on a book: Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson (biography) Keywords: Drama, Biography Fictionalized depiction of Steve Jobs's life follows the tech tycoon during three major points in his career.
ABSTRACT Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin's "prestige" answer to 2013's Jobs centers on Steve Jobs during fictionalized versions of three important product launches in his storied career: 1984's Macintosh, 1988's NeXT Computer, and 1998's iMac. Conversations with ex-Apple CEO John Sculley, Steve Wozniak, assistant Joanna Hoffman, and ex-girlfriend Chrisann Brennan paint a picture of Jobs as a conflicted man struggling with interpersonal relationships and paternity of his daughter Lisa.
Well-acted and tightly wound, Steve Jobs is, in Sorkin's own words, "not meant to be a dramatic re-creation of actual events", though it does draw some fact from Walter Isaacson's biography of the same name. Nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
