House on Haunted Hill (24-Oct-1999)
Director: William Malone Writers: Dick Beebe; Robb White Keywords: Horror, Haunted House Remake of the 1959 film of the same name follows an eccentric millionaire as he offers six people a handsome reward to survive a night in a spooky "home".
ABSTRACT Remake of House on Haunted Hill (1959). Theme park tycoon Stephen Price offers six strangers a million dollars if they can survive one night in the converted Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute for the Criminally Insane. Though the evening begins with an air of excitement, strange things soon begin to happen; Stephen Price's attempted murder of wife Evelyn unleashes the collective evil of the former inmates, termed "The Darkness", as a number of botched escape attempts are made. Inferior remake of William Castle's 1959 classic; a testament to unnecessary latter-day Hollywood remakes.
