Zombie thriller follows several individuals' attempts to find sanctuary in the aftermath of an apocalyptic viral outbreak.

ABSTRACT
British animal rights activists invade a laboratory on a misbegotten mission to "liberate" chimpanzees held for experimentation, causing the apocalyptic spread of a virus inducing uncontrollable rage in humans. Flash forward four weeks to Jim, a man in a London hospital who awakens from a coma to find the once-thriving metropolis apparently deserted, with nary a soul to be found; after happening upon a church infested with zombies contaminated with the "rage" virus, he encounters fellow unaffected survivors Mark and Selena, soon banding together with the pair on a quest to find sanctuary from the all-out chaos. Positively received by critics and audiences alike, 28 Days Later... earned high marks for popularizing the concept of "fast-moving zombies" within a time-worn genre all too susceptible to campy cliches.
