REVIEWS

Review by Corrine HG S (posted on 17-Sep-2005)

Unconditional Love is a very unique approach to what are often common marital differences, mid life, or otherwise. The problems are happily resolved during an identity crisis for Kathy Bates and Rupert Everett as they discover who they are and why they are unhappy. Each questions what it is they believe their life should really be. She, an unappreciated wife, devoid of affection from her husband, and discouraged from developing her talents. Rupert, made a cockold by his in closet partner, who suddenly leaves much behind to be discovered when he is murdered. How it is that the two characters meet and eventually befriend each other, presents a surprising approach to solving personality flaws we all face. Missing was any sense of real grief for a departing partner, when Jonathon Pryce is suddenly gone. However, I found this film to be charming, funny, entertaining, refreshing, and well presented. The casting was perfect and each character was well defined, albeit some had only brief parts.

In short...I loved it!
