REVIEWS Review by Mark Lundie (posted on 1-Jul-2007) This was one of the first films to portray homosexuality in a mainstream way that could be handled by almost any audience without offending anyone.
Although the two leading men are Hollywood-Handsome, and the environment is upper-middle-class fantasy, the actual topic
of sexuality is dealt with in a mature and tasteful way.
If nothing else, this film derserves credit from breaking through barriers of taboos or of cult films, and of placing the issue of sexual orientation in the limelight, in an adult, matter-of-fact way.
The music and the actors, as well as the fine photography, add to the film's overall appeal as well.
Review by JLK (posted on 8-Oct-2005) This is one of the earliest works in television to not totally trash homosexuality. It used attractive male stars, did not back off its subject, and yet was not obscene. The plot was not worthy of Tolstoy, but it was extremely entertaining. It came from the day when network television was not permitted the vocabulary including words like shit, fuck, or even goddamn, yet it managed to portray human values with sensitivity and clarity.
