Casino Royale (14-Nov-2006)
Director: Martin Campbell Writers: Paul Haggis; Neal Purvis; Robert Wade From novel: Casino Royale by Ian Fleming Keywords: Action/Adventure, James Bond, Parkour, Explosions Agent 007 must defeat a weapons dealer in a poker game at a Montenegro casino as part of his latest high-stakes mission.
ABSTRACT Daniel Craig's first turn as James Bond sees him working to undermine corrupt arms dealer and terrorist financier Le Chiffre by defeating him in a perilous game of poker at the Casino Royale in Montenegro. Casino Royale represents a departure from prior entries in the Bond franchise in that it stands as a reboot existing independently of previously-established film timelines, allowing for a curious depiction of our hero as a vulnerable man more susceptible to the usual seductresses and red herrings found along the way than the franchise's usual super-slick "men's men".
