3 Godfathers (1-Dec-1948)
Director: John Ford Writers: Laurence Stallings; Frank S. Nugent From novel: The Three Godfathers by Peter B. Kyne Musical Score: Richard Hageman Keywords: Western A trio of bank robbers on the lam encounter a dying woman and her newborn in the desert and promise to ensure the infant's survival. These three "wise men" head for New Jerusalem, Arizona. Slightly oddball Western with elements of Christmas parable but not religious to the point of being burdensome. Earlier adaptations of this novel are the silent Hell's Heroes (1929) and Richard Boleslawsky's Three Godfathers (1936).
