ABSTRACT
Jane Goodale, hopeless romantic talk-show producer skeptical of love, is dumped by seemingly perfect suitor Ray a month and a half into their relationship. Obsessed with figuring out where their picture-perfect romance went wrong, Jane devises a theory of male behavior by comparing their various "tics" to those found in common animals, becoming an overnight sensation with women everywhere when she parlays her research into a successful stint as an advice columnist. Jane's decision to exploit acquaintance Eddie for her work leads to an unexpected turn of romantic events as she presses on in her search for true, lasting love.
