Skyfall (23-Oct-2012)
Director: Sam Mendes Writers: John Logan; Neal Purvis; Robert Wade Keywords: Action/Adventure, James Bond Presumed dead after a mishap involving a bad shot from Moneypenny, Agent 007 returns to defend MI6's honor and re-assess his loyalty to M.
ABSTRACT Daniel Craig returns as James Bond for this entry in the 007 franchise that seeks to tell the backstory of how Bond came to hold his illustrious spot in Britain's top spy agency within the frame of a multi-continent battle against villain Raoul Silva and concurrent struggles to defend MI6's honor in the face of increased scrutiny from the British government. The film does not contain a good deal of the out-of-this-world gadgetry and satirical humor found in many of its preceding titles in the franchise, and thus takes a tone that is decidedly darker and more interpersonal as a direct result. Won Academy Awards for Best Original Song and Best Sound Editing; nominated for Best Original Score, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound Mixing.
