Their steamship is sunk, but the pair, and another man, a whaler, are rescued by a well-equipped submarine, the Nautilus. Commanding it is the misanthropic Captain Nemo. Finest adaption of any Jules Verne novel. Won Oscars for Best Set Decoration and Best Special Effects; received a nomination for Best Film Editing.
