REVIEWS Review by Richard Thornton (posted on 15-Jun-2007) I first saw two of the principle actors, Granville and Litel as a youngster, when barely double digited age in the early forties. This story is about a cub reporter who solves a murder and in the process distinguishes herself as a reporter. Granville is almost as energetic as Debbie Reynolds, but without vocals. It is amazing that she was 16 years old when this movie was made. It is sad that teen-agers today cannot be portrayed in a more positive light in current movies.
Litel of course is excellent as he alway was in supporting roles.
The criminals themselves and the murder are given only a foil status, so there is no violent aspect whatsoever. What a pleasant relief from movies like REAR WINDOW.
Glad you asked for this review. I hope to find and gift this movie to my grandchildren.
