Zero Mostel and Larry Storch provide broad comedy, Kim Novak provides the larcenous love interest, Claude Akins the cantankerous, cynical outlaw, and laconic Clint Walker as the marshal in the white hat (Has he ever played a villian ?)in The Great Bank Robbery. From all appearances, the little town of Friendly seems to have a truly truly well-fortified bank that defies robbery. As a result,even bad guys like Slade wants to keep his ill-gotten loot there. But a devout looking phony religous bunch of thieves, each with their own skill set out to withdraw the bank's assets, by implementing an elaborate scheme. The marshal has been sent to Friendly, to get the goods on the bznk, working undercover. But Novak's character, Lila uses her ample charms on the marshal to assure her gang will get the dough. A Mexican pack of bandits gets in on the grabbing, but a bit too late, as a vigorous chase ensues. Not to be missed is Kim's diversionary nude horseback ride to keep the bank guards busy.
