REVIEWS Review by Curtinian VII (posted on 10-Mar-2005) The original title was something like The Face Eaters I think, can't remember, and I refuse to look it up. Or maybe that was 13th Warrior...? Anyway, a great historical piece, featuring David Arquette as a reefer and mushroom enthusiast, a dude from Trainspotting as a cannibal (I think), and oh just see it; it's funny as hell. The only think that sucks, and it really sucks, is the music is some techno-rave BS, like Run Lola Run/Matrix crap that pops up during any action. Why do they always ruin period pieces with modern soundtracks? There was some other limey film, about dueling highwaymen, with the OTHER guy from Trainspotting, that had similar shitty music, and it just shows how a decent film can turn to camp by letting "today hottest new bands" anywhere near it. Anyway, Ravenous shows us that the Donner Party-era west was populated by tasty and delicious immigrants of all kinds, and you can get street cred by hanging out with Indians.
Do you know something we don't?
