Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (24-Jul-1978)
Director: Michael Schultz Writer: Henry Edwards Keywords: Musical, The Beatles While Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is in Hollywood making a record deal, back home in the town of Heartland Mr. Mustard plots to steal their magic instruments. The nearly $20M spent for this garish, outlandish, and appalling production yields nothing short of cinematic disaster. Yet decades later it is possible to enjoy this film if approaching it properly. With some good musical covers, notably from Aerosmith and Earth, Wind & Fire, but also some dreck: George Burns performing "Fixing a Hole" is particularly egregious. Almost no dialogue.
