REVIEWS Review by Amanda (posted on 11-May-2007) One of the most romantic movies I have ever seen. It portrays Native Americans in a very favorable light and the acting is brilliant. Michael Greyeyes commands the screen as Tokalah and he and Janine Turner have wonderful chemistry. Overall a very gripping and entertaining film.
Review by anonymous (posted on 29-Dec-2006) The movie is a stunning piece of work. How wonderful to explore both sides of the story from the Pioneer side and the Native Indian side. What also makes me so happy is to see true Native Indians taking these parts in the film. Rodney Grant being one of my favourites. I think it deals underneath with an issueo of how both sides could, but never did live a long side happily with one another. In the film also, was some very moving and heart wrenching scenes, i.e. when Janine Turner learns of his secret, about the black book in his vision and how later she returns to find him. I thought the actor william shockley who played custer was the best one I have seen every portrayed. How worrying. But overall the film is fabulous and it should be released on DVD.
Review by Rhoda (posted on 28-Sep-2005) Though I wasn't a stolen woman, my heart was captured by this made-for-TV movie. The acting was excellent, the story fascinating as you watch two women captured bythe Sioux Indians and the difference with which each woman responded to their captivity. The married woman, Anna, and a Lakota Indian warrier fall in love. General Custer negotiates the release of the two women, one unwilling and one willing which leads to the decimation of the tribe that has grown to accept Anna as one of its members.
