A perfectionist master chef's world is turned upside down when she is expected to care for her young niece.

ABSTRACT
Kate is a top-shelf, no-nonsense chef at a prestigious Manhattan restaurant, with a sterling reputation for quality food matched only by her tendency to alienate friends and co-workers when she applies her perfectionist tendencies to her personal life. The unexpected death of her only sister heralds a period of change and difficulty for Kate, as she is expected to act as ten-year old niece Zoe's guardian while struggling with her restaurant's hiring of a second chef, an eager-to-please man who may or may not be gunning for her coveted job.
