REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 31-Jul-2005) Just saw this
film at the Melbourne International Film Festival It provided an
inspiring insight into the life of an extremely talented musician.
Bernie Worrell is, as some of his afficionados say in the film,
'apparently invisible' these days because he has no publicity machine
behind him and at 59/60? he hasn't got the support of the commercial
music biz. It was great to see a film that pays such a tribute to his
work. Mr Worrell doesn't provide much comment during the film, this is
left to his musical colleagues who run out of superlatives in talking
about his music and his influence on younger musicians. Definitely a
film for electronic music and funk fans - or anyone who wants to see a
film about someone who is a true artist and hasn't just got an eye on
the dollar. Also loved the footage of Parliament and Talking
Heads... well worth seeing!
