REVIEWS Review by James Richardson (posted on 30-Mar-2005) Ted Bundy is Matthew Bright's third outing as a director. He is definitely one of my favorite directors.
If u haven't heard of Theodore Robert Bundy he is one of the worlds most infamous serial killers. He murdered approximately 22 women from 1974 to 1978. He is particularly infamous because of his M.O and the fact that he led a seemingly normal life. He was the first person to be tagged a serial killer. He was executed in 1989.
The film stars Michael Reilly Burke as Ted Bundy. The charismatic, the comical, the charming, and oh yes the serial killer. Burke amazes with a terrifying performance. This flick is well worth catching and for fans of "Real life horror" It should be a hit. This is pretty close to the truth if you do your homework.
This film was deemed exploitative, but I disagree, I think its just. The film doesn't portray Ted as an anti-hero, though he is the protagonist. He receives the death penalty at the end of the film, its a gritty moment watching this monster get his just desserts.
An excellent film, 4 out of 4 stars, I hear that Matthew Bright has made a fourth film named Tiptoes starring Gary Oldman as a dwarf. In a warped take on Goldilocks and the three bears, sounds great.
