In 1969 I saw The April Fools for the first time, to write a review. I did not then, but I will now. Great imagery. The art-works at the party, the early morning scenes (especially the vintage R-R on the bridge has ad-potential), the TWA-terminal, Catherine Deneuve - they all reflect the sophistication of an era mainly related to the 1950s and 1960s. Lovely theme, "April Fools", sung by Dionne Warwick. The we´ve-got-to-get-out-of-here story appears typical of an age contesting hitherto well-established values. So what if The April Fools did not score as well with the critics as 2001. The film charmed people then. It probably still does.
