The Good Lie (7-Sep-2014)
Director: Philippe Falardeau Writer: Margaret Nagle Keywords: Drama Sudanese nationals displaced during their country's long-running civil war relocate to the United States in search of new lives.
ABSTRACT The Sudanese Civil War of the late 20th century displaced scores of innocent young civilians living in their nation's devastated countryside, forcing thousands of now-orphaned young men -- termed "Lost Boys" -- to head out on an extensive barefoot trek to a Kenyan refugee camp. The Good Lie follows Jeremiah, Paul, and Mamere, brothers of a village chief who'd sacrificed himself to rebels to save their lives, as they seek a new existence for themselves in the fish-out-of-water confines of Kansas City, Missouri with the help of assertive job recruiter Carrie Davis.
