A Majority of One (11-Jan-1962)
Director: Mervyn LeRoy Writer: Leonard Spigelgass From a play: A Majority of One by Leonard Spigelgass Music by: Max Steiner Keywords: Romantic Comedy Alec Guinness plays a Japanese businessman falls in love with a Jewish widow from Brooklyn. Since her son-in-law is formulating a business deal with Guinness, some might assume the relationship a ploy for negotiating advantage. Despite both leads obviously miscast, they give decent and largely believable performances. Now somewhat dated adaptation of Spigelgass's successful Broadway play, which ran 559 performances.
