A Marine nearing his retirement is forced back into action under dire circumstances when aliens invade and threaten Los Angeles.

ABSTRACT
In modern-day Los Angeles, strange objects thought to be meteorites fall out of the sky and crash into the Pacific Ocean, turning out to be carrying invasive aliens determined to wreak deadly havoc on mankind. Nantz, a staff sergeant in the Marines who had been pondering retirement prior to the invasion, is called back into action, reassigned to a tour of duty with a squadron tasked with rescuing human hostages from an alien-controlled encampment before the Army bombs the area into oblivion.
