Director: Vic Armstrong Writers: Paul Lalonde; John Patus From novel: Left Behind by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins Keywords: Drama, For Christian Audience, Bible, Rapture Remake of the 2000 film of the same name follows the struggles of a group of individuals "left behind" after the Rapture transpires.
ABSTRACT Remake of Left Behind (2000). The Rapture occurs, sending millions of adherents of evangelical Christian theology up to Heaven as heathens are left behind to suffer through the cataclysmic events of the Tribulation. Agnostic airline pilot Rayford Steele is one such non-Raptured individual; he must contend with the disappearance of a number of his passengers and an airport dotted with wrecks while journalist Buck Williams looks to piece together events leading to the chaos quickly enveloping Earth. Panned by critics from all sorts of faiths, fundamentalist Christianity included, Left Behind did not answer fans of the source material's prayers for a significant improvement over the 2000 film bearing its name.
