When Clarence reveals he has never been baptized, to the consternation of his wife and minister, Vinnie sees to it that he will undergo the sacrament. And elder son Clarence Jr. strikes up a young romance with Mary Skinner, played by an annoying 15-year-old Elizabeth Taylor. Adaptation of the hit Broadway play which had a run of 3447 performances between 1939 and 1947. Received Oscar nominations for Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Set Decoration and Best Dramatic Score.
