ABSTRACT Remake of Red Dawn (1984). In a dysfunctional future marked by an economically stagnant European Union, weakened NATO alliance, and increasingly-extremist governments in North Korea and Russia, the United States falls under attack one morning when North Korean paratroopers storm Spokane, Washington just after a mysterious power outage. Caught off-guard by the soldiers' arrival and subsequent execution of local police sergeant Tom Eckert, a group of area teenagers agree to form an armed collective known as the Wolverines, named after their school's mascot and tasked with restoring their community's freedom.
