Tombstone (25-Dec-1993)
Director: George P. Cosmatos Writer: Kevin Jarre Music by: Bruce Broughton Producers: James Jacks; Sean Daniel; Bob Misiorowski Keywords: Western Former lawman Wyatt Earp joins his other brothers and Doc Holliday for a quieter life in the town of Tombstone, but find it controlled by the a group of outlaws known as The Cowboys. Highly enjoyable retelling of the Gunfight at the OK Corral. Doc Holliday is far and away Kilmer's finest performance. Compare to Kevin Costner's Wyatt Earp (1994).
CAST REVIEWS Review by Black Joke (posted on 23-Feb-2005) Quite possibly the best western made, certainly the best made in the past 20 years. I would like to know why Val Kilmer never got nominated for an Academy Award for his performance. Wait, now I remember. Westerns don't get awards unless John Wayne is dying or it is crap, like Shane (1953).
